Charlotte Athletic Club's Dawn Ireland is leading August 30th Yoga On Tap class.
"Early on in my life I knew that I wanted to build a life around helping others. In pursuit of that goal, I became a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency and Cardiovascular Medicine. Over 9 years of experience in the hospital taught me a plethora of skills, but most importantly it taught me how to express care, empathy, and intuitiveness in very active and practical ways.
However, my health began to decline after all that time in the hospital, and I had to leave bedside nursing. Luckily, I had found yoga a few years prior, and had fallen in love with the practice! I began teaching full-time, which led me to two more preventative-medicine paths: Personal training and nutrition counseling. I am still practicing my core nursing skills- in the way they are most beneficial: Empowering others to take their health back, and not just live, but thrive!"
