"I am a wife, a mamma to two sweet boys, a teacher and the Leader of Teachers & Assistants at Yoga One. I took my first yoga class 18 years ago and after a period of time away from my mat, came back after the birth of my first child ten years ago. What was initially exercise to me when I first found yoga became more than just that. My time on my mat became “me” time away from the demands of parenthood, work and life. It was time that was quiet and gave me space to reconnect with my physical body, explore who I was and what I wanted. My practice was a fire- starter for waking up to my life, what I wanted and how I wanted to be for myself, my family and my children. My practice has given me physical strength, awareness and tools to make big changes in my life.
Teaching yoga is a dream come true. I come from a family of teachers, it’s our craft. I’m so lit up getting to teach students. Seeing my students wake up to their bodies, their lives and take on their own growth is inspiring and wonderful. I lead and teach from experience, intuition, authenticity and FUN. My classes are powerful, fun, accessible to ALL and full of possibility.
I am a Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, a Certified Pre/Post Natal teacher, a graduate of Baptiste Level 1, II, Art of Assisting, Advanced Art of Assisting and 200-hour training at Yoga One in Charlotte."

Yoga On Tap with Kevin Cross

I am a career hairdressing session-master and started practicing yoga in 2008 to balance the stress of running a busy salon and working in the world of fashion runways. My initial perception of yoga was that it was for those who had lithe, flexible bodies, or those who started yoga early in life. I had spent most of his life overweight, out of shape, with a history of unhealthy addictions to chemicals and food. My first class was a one-on-one and from that first class, I knew I’d stumbled on something different, but I had no idea how profound this journey was going to be. I’m continually amazed by how a rubber mat and an open mind can do so much.

Through the unconditional support, guidance and encouragement of wonderful teachers I’ve broken through mental and emotional boundaries and transformed my physical body. The practice, teaching and assisting of Baptiste yoga is a beneficial factor in the quality of communication I have in all areas of my life.

I graduated Yoga One Teacher Training in March 2013 with 200 RYT and have worked hard to attain 200 hour Tier One Baptiste Certification and Advance Art of Assisting through Yoga Alliance and the Baptiste Power Institute.. I am delighted to be working in this field of personal growth and expression with such a wonderful family of students, assistants and teachers. I am committed to reciprocating the gifts I’ve received by sharing and leading others in their own journey.

Sajeedah Jones leads Yoga On Tap July 4th

"I live a very fast paced life!  The Gemini in me usually leads to me having my hands in more fires than one at a time!

I am the Business Manager and heavily involved in Event Planning for a very intense lifestyle company known as Heights Entertainment.

So Yoga is where I find peace and solace at the end of the day!  Or as I like to say, Yoga is the Yin to my Yang.

From a very early age, fitness and health played a major role in my everyday life. Three of my brothers and sisters played Division 1 college basketball. My youngest brother is a successful professional basketball player overseas. I decided that athletes would be my primary but not my only focus.

fter a 10 year love affair with Yoga, I decided that I wanted to share my love for this art form with those around me. This led to me acquiring my 200 hour Ashtanga Teacher Certification and becoming a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor. I then went on to complete my Yoga for Athletes Certification and have since worked with some of the top Teams and Athletes in the country teaching them the benefits of Yoga for Athletes.

IMG_5897.JPG

Not only is Yoga a total body workout, it also helps prevent injury while increasing recovery time, concentration, discipline, focus, calmness and clarity. All of these elements are extremely important when participating in professional sport, as well as a fast paced life.  My goal is to show you how, through Yoga,

you can take your game to the next level, both on the court and in the game of life.

Namaste "

My first yoga class was in 2006 and I was hooked from the first om. Being an athlete the physicality of the vinyasa practice was fulfilling and the “clear mind feeling” I felt after class was a bonus. I knew I had found a practice that would change my life.

I am a 200 hour Baptiste certified teacher and a registered ERYT with Yoga Alliance. I have recently signed up for certification with Xen Strength Yoga which is a practice that incorporates weight toning with yoga. I teach and participate on the management team at Yoga One.

Besides yoga my interests include sports, cooking, and spending time with my family & friends. I look forward to meeting you on your mat and sharing my love of the practice with you.

Blake Thews leads Yoga On Tap June 13th

Blake began practicing yoga in 2007 and earned her 200hr RYT certification in 2010 training with Rolf Gates, hosted by Charlotte Yoga. She’s taught in studios, fitness centers, and schools around Charlotte, including Y2 Yoga in Cotswold, where she taught for five years. While yoga began for her ten years ago, she’s studied astrology for decades and found it compatible with the practice of yoga. Breath work, meditation, and the study of chakras are also important aspects of her personal practice and teaching style. With support and encouragement from friends, she expanded her astrology hobby into a business reading natal and solar return charts. She started her website, leomoonrising.com, to share information on whatever is happening right now in her “Current Sky” section.

She believes one of the beautiful things about “finding your path” is that you’re on it already, and sometimes that simple acknowledgement is the catalyst we need to begin walking it with truth and awareness. Learning to be in any given moment, ego healthily intact but not taking over, expressing unique creativity, understanding how love and compassion always have a place at the table, and resonating with the flow are lifelong goals. Remembering the power of breath is step one. As a yoga instructor, Blake finds joy in witnessing the energy of yogis shift during a practice into those places that are real and into the levels underneath words and the struggles of the mind so that the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual can be brought together. She is grateful for the opportunities she has to participate in those moments.

Jenna & Magen are leading Yoga On Tap May 16th

Get to know Jenna & Megan

Jenna Rose

Jenna is a Charlotte native, who loves to try new things. Her love and interest in yoga came from a friend convincing her to try hot yoga few years ago. She quickly found a balance at Arrichion Hot Yoga between the hot yoga and circuit training that she loved. After experiencing such a transformation physically and mentally, she decided to extend her knowledge and practice through teacher training.

From there, she received her 200-hour certification, and then continued on to receive her 500-hour certification, studying under Quinn Reynolds. Jenna loves teaching and connecting with students, in order to encourage them and learn from them. She hopes that her classes inspire students to be their best on and off their mat.

Yoga On Tap Charlotte

Magen Ladd

After college, Magen moved from Upstate New York to Charlotte and decided to try a local yoga class for the first time. What she discovered was a well rounded workout that provided physical fitness, mental clarity, and a sense of community. She also left classes feeling empowered and energized, and as she puts it, become hooked. Yoga for her became more than a hobby and is now a way of life. Wanting to share this experience with others, she began working on her 200 RYT under the instruction of Quinn Reynolds at Arrichion Hot Yoga and has since completed her 500 RYT.

Furthering her education, she has also received a certification to teach Prenatal Yoga, and has studied under the instruction of Diane Cevallos at Charlotte Family Yoga Center. Through it all, Yoga has become an integral part of her life and something that she enjoys sharing with others through her instruction and personal practice.  Magen became a mother to a beautiful baby girl, London Genevieve in December 2014. Her and her husband, Cory are expecting their second child in July.

Claire was skeptical about trying a yoga class in 2008, thinking it would be too easy and boring.  After her very first class she was hooked.  It was the first time she had experienced a sense of overall peace and clarity after a physically challenging workout.  She decided she wanted to learn more about the origins and background of yoga so she began teacher training at Y2yoga in January of 2012.

She was surprised at the overall growth she experienced and wanted to share that with others.  She completed her RYT-200 in May of the same year, and began teaching right away.  She found her way to Charlotte Yoga in October 2015 as a student, and fell in love with the overall energy and vibe of the studio.  She was thrilled to come on board as a teacher in February of 2016.

Michelle Ramseth is leading Yoga On Tap May 2nd

Get to know Michelle...

"I am the Teacher Community Builder at Yoga One and a 500-hour Certified Baptiste Teacher.

I started practicing yoga in 2004.  Once a week I left the business of my head and relished in my body with about 10 other ladies - most of them over 60.  I did this type of restorative yoga for 2 years and saw dramatic shifts in my life.  I began to notice there was more available to me than the pressures I felt from work and past mistakes.  I was able to notice others.

Then I found Yoga One. I was ready to wake up to life, to be moved, to recognize my inner teacher, to get the party started.  I took Yoga One’s first 200 hour teaching training in 2008 and fell in love with the process of teaching, Yoga One’s culture and Baptiste Yoga.  I have been a dedicated student of Baron Baptiste since 2009.  I am grateful to be a student of this practice and of life, possibility, playfulness and love.

This practice has given me the space to be a loving wife and adventurous companion for my husband & two amazing dogs.  Together, we live life large - whether it’s canoeing in the wilderness, rock climbing in the desert, banging chains on the disc golf course, caring for my elderly mother, or simply looking each other directly in the eye and saying Yes to being together.

Each day I celebrate life. I celebrate in the classroom through self expression and willingness to be seen by you - my favorite teachers. Life is a joyous adventure. Come join me!"

Arrichion Owner Quinn Reynolds Leads Yoga On Tap

Find your Strength in your Practice

Quinn Reynolds grew up in a family of wrestlers and spent countless hours watching her brothers practice and her dad coach. They were a family of athletes and she was, too. She took gymnastics lessons; she took swimming lessons; she took ballet lessons (ask her about them). One day when she was about nine years old and watching yet another intensive wrestling workout, she declared that she wanted to sweat, too. No, she did not join the wrestling team. She wanted to learn to play soccer. So her parents found a soccer tutor and she spent the next 13 years training and playing soccer year-round, including a successful career as a scholarship soccer player for the University of Illinois.

The desire to sweat continued, but was never fully satisfied until she stumbled onto hot yoga.  The discovery of hot yoga transformed her passion for physical and mental well-being and she committed to combine it with her athletic expertise and adventurous spirit to bring the benefits to others. Quinn studied under Jacqueline Heisel at Frog Lotus Yoga where she received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher credentials in Hatha and Vinyasa flow yoga. She continued her training by completing a 500 hour Yoga Alliance certification at Sunstone Yoga under the direction of Nicole Shaw.

Teacher Training information:

Do you want to learn more about Hot Yoga, deepen your yoga practice and share the love with others? The Arrichion Yoga Teacher Training Program is an incredible opportunity to be part of this powerful fitness lifestyle system. Turn Inward. Reconnect. Explore at Yoga On Tap.

Rodolfo Tandazo is leading Yoga On Tap April 18th at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.

Rodolfo discovered yoga in 2014 while training with the Miami City Ballet School. Practicing yoga daily helped Rodolfo cope with the constant stresses and demands of being a ballet dancer. It has taught him how to let go of fear, and how to embrace, trust, and send love to every part of himself.

Rodolfo continued to practice yoga when he moved to Austin, Texas to dance professionally with Ballet Austin. He decided to stop dancing and continue his passion for yoga, as well as his love for teaching. Rodolfo currently teaches at Charlotte Yoga, Laughing Buddha and the younger dancers at Charlotte Ballet.

His teaching is inspired by the idea that each time we step onto our mats, we are choosing the practice of creating space to slow down, turn inward, reconnect and explore.  Rodolfo combines alignment and flow to empower students to grow in their practice, inviting fluid movements and grace.

For more iformation about this organization, visit https://www.mabnc.org

Get to know Kacy...

"I entered the door of yoga to find yet another way to exercise, and lose weight.  It wasn’t long before I realized it was so much more than that.  I could let go of my destructive over-ambition and settle in to a practice that kept my body healthy while allowing myself to relax in to the beauty that is my life. I believe we are given hardships so that we can have compassion and help others who struggle with similar things. I struggle with anxiety, and yoga has helped me to just let go.  I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in November of 2011, and yoga helped me to stay focused on my breath and my recovery.  I am now in remission and I truly feel that yoga is part of that recovery.

I have been practicing yoga since 2007, and teaching since 2010.  I am still amazed and inspired by the power of the practice.  I feel that it is a vehicle for self-discovery, and a journey that teaches us to connect with our breath but also to one another on a deeper level.

When I teach, I try to create a space in my classes for students to gain a deeper understanding of a pose and of themselves. My classes are both physically and mentally challenging, but are taught with a lightness and humor that almost allow you to forget you are working so hard."

The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. The goal of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a proud program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially adapted smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members.

The mission of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.

Yoga One's Luis Bayon is leading Yoga On Tap

Get to know Luis...

"I took my first yoga class in January of 2014 to compliment my weight training routine and learn how to use my breath purposefully. At the time, I was six months post-undergrad with no sense of direction. What followed was a fun and powerful exploration period, where I learned how to use my body, breath, and mind in new ways to get present, grounded, and clear. While my practiced was physically driven to begin, it wasn’t long until I noticed the profound mental and emotional shifts. Concepts such as human anatomy, gratitude, awareness/mindfulness, intention, and positivity came to the forefront of my consciousness for me to ponder and dissect.

Self-inquiry and self-development became power tools in my box for how to live a better, more empowered life. Since, I’ve become healthier and stronger, physically and mentally. I’ve learned how to sharpen my connection to those around me, the universe/life as whole, and most importantly, myself. My practice has helped me awaken to my highest self, my ego, and my fullest potential. It’s given me the courage and confidence to set visions and goals, and it’s allowed me to cultivate a greater awareness of my intellect and emotions. It’s because of these gifts I’ve uncovered from my practice that I like teaching yoga; I get to lead others in their discovery, while continuing mine and teaching authentically from it.

Dance, music, and rhythm have always been interests of mine, and I’ve found yoga, specifically vinyasa, is inspired by the same graceful elements. Moving my body to the rhythm of ujjayi and feeling the strength and capability of my body is like dancing in a trance-induced euphoric state.

In March 2016, I completed my 200hr YTT at Yoga One in Charlotte, NC. The Baptiste Yoga methodology presented me with a rock solid foundation for which to practice and teach from the rest of my life. I aim to teach empowering, intentional, and fun classes to help you see what’s possible when you drop fear and limiting thoughts. My personal goal is to study, practice, train, and teach this stuff for the rest of my life. I have the dream of one day opening a studio in my native country of Cuba."

Class starts at 6:30pm at http://www.infinityballroomcharlotte.com

Experience a renewed sense of strength and gratitude with Jenna Baldi

Strength & Gratitude

Jenna went to her first yoga class 8 years ago in order to "stretch and chill out." She quickly learned that yoga would mean so much more to her. She left that class, and every class since, with a renewed sense of strength and gratitude.

As she furthered her practice, she loved the physical work out she got, but was intrigued by the spiritual and emotional exploration she began to experience. After trying different styles and lineages over the the years, Jenna decided she wanted to share her passion for yoga with others. She studied under Lizzy Hoffman in Charlotte and received her 200 RYT in July of 2015.

Her style of yoga is challenging with a great emphasis on self-discovery and acceptance. Jenna's classes will push you physically and will encourage you to create space in your life for opportunities you may have never dreamed of. Come and explore the possibilities!

February is National Heart Month, and as a part of raising awareness of heart disease, its risk factors and preventative techniques, Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is partnering with Yoga on Tap. After class, stay for a free 30-minute hands only CPR course offered by Carolinas Health Care Systems.

Feel the LOVE on Valentine's Day with Amy Morris at Yoga On Tap

Feel the LOVE on Valentine's Day with Amy Morris at Yoga On Tap

Get to know Amy...

"I began my yoga practice about 10 years ago, after the birth of my twins.  I have 3 children, and at that time, they were all under 3 years old.

A friend suggested it to me as a complement to running for the stretching.  I wonder if she could tell I needed the peace aspect the most but knew I would run from that.  I had tried yoga on and off over the years, but as a runner, I thought it was much too slow for me and the “quieting of the mind” teachers would talk about only made me think of all the other things I should be doing.

If it sounds like a lot more than a stretching class, that’s because it is.  The mind/body/spirit connection makes yoga my moving meditation and prayer.  The first 3 Oms we take in class remind me of God’s omnipresence, His omniscience and His omnipotence.  The Namaste reminds me to see the light in others and reflect that back to them.  I feel humbled and grateful every single time I get to hit the mat.

Maya Angelou says one of my favorite quotes, “What you learn, teach. What you get, give.”  My hope is that the staples of the practice manifest through my life off the mat as well.  Namaste and Love!"

Nina Fedele-Miller leads Yoga On Tap February 7th

Get to know Nina...

"As a lover of all things beer and community, Nina is thrilled to return to Yoga on Tap and excited to lead a powerful class. Nina stumbled into her first Yoga class 10 years ago and never looked back. With a background in dance, the graceful and powerful flow of Vinyasa resonated with her immediately. Nina has studied with a wide range of teachers and her teaching style is most inspired by the transformational underpinning of Baptiste Yoga.

For Nina, Yoga initially provided a vehicle for full-on self expression and exploration. In more recent years, Yoga has served her as a tool to stay acutely connected to a deep sense of gratitude and cultivate a profound love of life, even in the face life's greatest challenges. As a teacher, she inspires her students to create the life they want with each breathe, each encounter, each vibration and to infuse each day an energetic quality of "YES". When not on her Yoga mat, Nina can be found spending time with her husband and two babies, enjoying live music, riding around town on two wheels or playing on a mountain. Nina currently teaches all level classes and prenatal at Yoga One."
